The celebrations will be held at the World Heritage site, the Kőporosi Cellar Row, in the cute village of Hercegkút - and you can be sure of a good local party. Plenty of interesting foods to go with good wines. Various wineries will be opening their cellar doors so you can taste their wines and take a peak at the amazing cellars from the inside. A great opportunity to explore Hungary's answer to the Shire ("Hobbitland")!

The oldest harvest festival in the region - it started in 1932. Processions, traditional clothes and music – the town of Tokaj celebrates the Harvest Fest (Tokaj-hegyaljai Szüreti Napok). Festivities throughout the weekend include winemakers and a market along the main street, as well as music in the main square, where popular Hungarian bands take the stage. CatchMagna Cum Laude and Saint Marten for example.

One of the youngest societies in the Tokaj Wine Region, Trautsons in Hercegkút, offers a tour in the surrounding Zemplén Hills and a wine tasting. The 7-km tour takes you over fairly easy land around the lovely Swabian village - with a now traditional stop for lard frying over the fire!

Furmint February tasting comes to the nearby city of Debrecen - with 30 great winemakers arriving to pour their (100) wonderful Furmints in the spirit of "if it's February then it must be Furmint!" (Furmint Február). Organised by wine society Debreceni Borbarátok Társasága
Furmint February comes to Tokaj for the fourth time - Furmint Február tasting with the winemakers of the Tokaji Borászok Asztaltársasága. At four venues with eight members, 16 wines and 8 enthusiastic and committed winemakers in the centre of the town of Tokaj. Participating wineries are Benkő, Dobogó, Erzsébet, Hímesudvar, Paulay, Péter, Pinceköz, Tokaj-Hétszőlő.

A weekend of wine, enchantment and friendship in a sparkling mood! Why witchy weekend? Historical sources tell us it was in Tarcal where, in 1100, the Hungarian king Coloman the Learned declared a law prohibiting the persecution of strigae – vampires or mares – because they “do not exist”.
This family-friendly fun weekend is based around folk culture, womanhood and, naturally, wine. Events will be published soon.
