On the Saturday evening closest to midsummer – 24th June this year – the museums in Hungary spring to life. This year, to mark the start of the Incredible Edible Tokaj Wine Region most of the museums are joining around the edible theme – herb games and tea tasting, cakes made by prisoners.

Edible Museums! – Night of Museums – Incredible Edible Tokaji Wine Region
Past events have included taking the prison bus between the two towns, jumping fires, watching princely puppets in castles, seeing the oldest surviving Hungarian language bible, trying your hand at crafts or archery and more, often with a glass of Tokaji wine. Open museums are in Sárospatak, Sátoraljaújhely, Széphalom, Szerencs and Tokaj.
