Taste wines among the vines from which they were harvested. A cooperation between Erzsébet Winery (who run the Cafe) and local guide/editor of Tokaj Today Gergő Somogyi (who is both very knowledgeable about the area and its wines as well as speaking the most beautiful English). Gergő, or Greg to some of his friends, will lead a small group from the Tokaj Coffee Roasting Company and Coffee House 12 km up through Mézes Mály vineyard across to the neighbouring village of Tarcal. En route taste 8 single vineyard wines, enjoy good company and discover info about the wine region, the Tokaj hill (locally called the “Bald one”), grape varieties, wines and winemakers.

09:15 – Coffee and instructions in Tokaji Kávéház Café
09:30 – As you leave Tokaj tasting stops in Szerelmi, Kis-Garai, Szarvas, Szil-völgy, Deák and Farkas vineyards: the first 6 wines, view the grape variety collection at the Tarcal research institute
13:30 – Optional rest in Tokaj Kikelet’s new Taste Shop (Ízműhelye in Hungarian), Tarcal
14:30 – On to Gróf Degenfeld Estate then up to the Terézia chapel for the last 2 wines
15:30 – Bus transfer from Gróf Degenfeld Estate back to Tokaj
