The new imposting stage in the former quarry just outside Tokaj should be a great venue for the stunning ballet Carmina Burana. German composer and director, Carl Orff, is one of the most unusual figures of 20th-century music history. Dance and music are almost inseparable in his teaching, stage works and compositions. Most of his works are complex cross-art creations in which rhythm and melody are in focus.
His most famous work is Carmina Burana, an evocation of the archetypal world of mythology. Balanced on the ruins of a civilisation, we get a glimpse into struggles to stay alive ritual-full human-like barbaric community who fight with their fears, trying to survive by intuition that guides through that which fate forces upon them.
This contemporary ballet with great choir and guest artists accompanying the Miskolc Symphonic Orchestra.
