The most shining of Italian comic operas was first performed in Paris two hundred years ago. Rossini brings superb musical invention, plenty of humour and hit arias in his opera based on the Beaumarchais‘s comedy. (Incidentally Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro is based on the second part of the trilogy.)
Typical characters of Italian comic opera appear including the noble preparing to marry the adopted girl, whose guardian has his eye on her, deception, costumes and more. Performed by MÜPA, the Budafoki Dohnányi Zenekar orchestra in conjunction with the Zemplén Festival.
