Over 30 Tokaji wines will be presented as the Confrérie de Tokaj stage the sixth Great Tokaj Wine Auction on 21st April. Under the hammer? Exciting contemporary wines from dry Furmint and Hárslevelű through late harvests, including sweet and dry Szamorodni, to the legendary Tokaji Aszú. Leading estates and winemakers of all sizes, Hungarian and foreign-owned offer barrel lots (136 l, 68 l) of their very best wines – which are only available at the Auction. Plus limited lots of bottled wines.
Events around the Auction include a blind tasting of the lots – the only chance most of us will ever have to taste all these wines and lunch followed by the auction. This unique event draws guests from around the world, from the USA to China, private collectors, merchants and (Michelin-star) restaurants keen to procure a unique fine wine that is not commercially available in any other form. It’s part of Tokaj Spring, a weekend-long event celebrating Tokaj and taking Tokaji wines to the world.
