If you’ve ever been to a Hungarian wedding, chances are you will have enjoyed the midnight feast! That’s right, traditionally cabbage stuffed with meat and rice is served to guests around midnight, to provide sustenance for festivities to continue. So that means many are expert rollers of the cabbage leaves – and just as many varieties!

2018 sees the 8th Stuffed Cabbage Festival in Rátka, a Swabian village in the northwest of the wine region. And Saturday sees teams cook up their own variations. And there will be plenty to try! Taste village life and village flavours as inhabitants and guests turn out to enjoy the festivities with wines, and beers, folk songs and dance, crafts workshops, children’s events and street ball at night.
