Founder of Budapest Klezmer Band, Fegya, plays in the synagogue as the village of Mád celebrates its Jewish heritage in this three-day festival. After the successful first festival last year, this year too sees an interesting programme of events in Mád, in the heart of the Tokaj Wine Region.

A long weekend of the Jewish Days with concerts, exhibitions and culinary events. Free-time and creativity in the spotlight on Friday afternoon – cooking the traditional sourdough Sabbath bread, Barhesz, plus crafts and children’s events start the festival. Visitors can join kabbala talks and visit cellars on Saturday and in the evening Fegya, founder of the renowned Budapest Klezmer Band, presents “Odesszastories” in the synagogue with its special atmosphere. This is perhaps the most beautiful baroque synagogue in Europe.
