The town of Tokaj has always been closely linked to the rivers which converge here: the Tisza and smaller Bodrog. In recent years dragon boat racing has become a popular summer event (over 20 teams competed in 2015) and this year sees local teams compete at the 4th Dragon Boat Fiesta (HU: 4. Sárkányhajó Fieszta). The fun and preparations start on Friday and continue through the weekend.

24th June, Day 0

Locals team have the opportunity to practise in the afternoon. Teams from further afield arrive to their accommodation.
Venue: Zenit Vízibázis

25th June, Day 1

8.30 am – registration and practice. 4 boats on the Tisza between the Tutajos Beach and the bridge.
From 12.00 competition rounds from the confluence of the Tisza-Bodrog 300 metres upstream on the Tisza.
From 6 pm – results and prize-giving
Torchlit procession on the Bodrog and Tisza after dark.
Followed by a party at Tutajos Club – free entry for competitors
