Talented young musicians and singers come from around the world to the Crescendo summer institute to learn together – and delight guests at the concerts they give in the town. Participants, most students at music and arts universities and colleges, assemble to push the boundaries of their performances as soloists, in chamber orchestras and orchestras, jazz bands and Baroque groups led by internationally renowned musicians.
This is two weeks of concentrated work in the performing arts for participants from more than 25 countries, plus assistance in preparing for auditions and exams. The teachers? Great soloists and members of leading European and American orchestras.
As the website says, “The Crescendo Summer Institute is a great opportunity for young people preparing for or considering a career in the arts to study alongside seasoned professional artists in a Christian environment. In addition to courses and private lessons with outstanding teachers, students will have the possibility of participating in « Tune In » morning meetings, small group discussions and Sunday church services. The course is open to all qualified young musicians regardless of their faith persuasion, and participation in the religious elements of the course is optional.”
