Harvest festivities throughout the region in late September…

,

Any self-respecting wine region celebrates the year’s grapes, acknowledges the vintage that has carried them on their yearly cycle. In some places it is after the harvest. But in the Tokaj wine region festivities tend to be during this period of intense activity. And the weekend of the 25-7th is no exception with Erdőbénye, Tállya and Bekecs out to celebrate!

Tállya – Saint Wenceslaus Day

Friday – jazz celebration of Louis Armstrong
Saturday – a 7km run from Mád To Tállya- open cellars – so plenty of tasting opportunities
– plus more tastings – wine and pálinka – in the Vinceller House
– wine dinner, pianist/singer followed by DJ and light painting!

Erdőbénye – Aszú celebration

Traditional village festival, with some top wineries open to visitors. The highlight? The evening fires on the hills, evoking days gone by when the shepherds lit fires around the village.

Bekecs

The newest festival to be introduced to the region’s calendar – primarily for locals.
